Reconquista

Reconquista is the main city in the north of the province of Santa Fe and the head of the General Obligado department. With more than 88,000 inhabitants and the highest demographic growth in the province between 2010 and 2022, it forms, together with Avellaneda, the most populated urban core in northern Santa Fe.

Located on National Route 11, connected to Provincial Route 1 and linked to the Paraná River through Puerto Reconquista, the city functions as a regional service and logistics center for a wide productive area. Its airport and the Reconquista–Goya integration agenda expand its potential for connection with northeastern Argentina and Mercosur countries.

Its identity was formed from agricultural work and the industrialization of regional resources. It currently has more than 100 food, metallurgical, chemical, textile, and technological industries, which generate around 10,000 direct jobs. Its production reaches 42 countries and exceeds 110 million dollars annually in exports.

Reconquista has a pioneering industrial park in the country, two industrial and workshop districts, and a 41-hectare site designated for the development of a new industrial park. This infrastructure allows for supporting the growth of existing companies and generating new opportunities for establishment.

The presence of the National Technological University, the National University of Litoral, the Catholic University of Santa Fe, and entities linked to production provides professional training and the capacity for articulation with the private sector.

Added to this productive base is the Jaaukanigás Ramsar Site, a wetland of international importance covering 492,000 hectares, which distinguishes Reconquista for its biodiversity and its connection with the river. With strategic planning oriented towards the year 2050, the city seeks to consolidate itself as a territory prepared to receive investments, generate employment, and grow sustainably.
