Ramona is located in the Castellanos Department, in the west of Santa Fe Province, near the border with Córdoba Province, on Provincial Route N°22. It is 50 kilometers from the city of Rafaela, the capital of the Castellanos Department and the main economic and demographic center of the region, and 60 kilometers from the city of Sunchales, another of the main urban centers in the area.
Nestled in a region known as the main dairy basin in Latin America, as it hosts the largest number of fluid milk producing dairies in the country.
Obviously, its main economic activity is agriculture and livestock, although it also has an important dairy industry, Ramolac, in the town of Ramona, which currently employs approximately 160 people from the town and neighboring villages.
The employment rate is estimated at 91%, with female labor facing greater employability difficulties. In this regard, public employment programs are developed, specifically aimed at this sector, and their objective is the maintenance of green spaces and the conservation of public properties.
The public sector, although it is the second source of employment generation, employs 12% of the economically active population.
For its part, the rural area covers an area of 10,000 hectares, all of which are incorporated into production and are predominantly dedicated to agriculture and livestock.
The main livestock activity is dairy production (21 dairies), 6637 animals and 18,565,841 liters annually, followed by steer fattening (1171 animals) and, on a very small scale, breeding and reproduction (289 animals). The district also has small livestock (sheep, goats, and pigs) but these only represent household economies.
Regarding agriculture, the predominant production is soybeans with an average of 4,067 ha cultivated and 13,020 tons of yield, and alfalfa pastures with 2,992 ha sown. Corn is also cultivated, using 845 ha and producing 5,915 tons of grain. Sunflowers occupy 59 ha of the colony, yielding 14.5 tons. Summer forages, mainly used for reserves in dairies, cover 1,397 ha and are composed of corn, foxtail millet, sorghum, and forage sorghum. In winter, wheat is cultivated for harvest, occupying 1,138 ha and producing 2,845 tons. Winter green fodder consists of wheat and oats cultivated on 640 ha for animal consumption.
As mentioned, the industrial-manufacturing sector is led by the Ramolac dairy; subsequently, it does not have metallurgical workshops, and the remaining small ventures that make up the sector are linked to the food industry.

Municipal incentives for the sector focus on credit management and the availability of land for industrial purposes. There are no industrial parks, but there is a settlement area on municipal land.
Commerce is the most important segment of the economic structure with 124 members from broad and varied sectors. Work is coordinated and jointly carried out with the Association that represents them, designing incentive and defense policies for the sector, which include credit management, training actions, control of street vending, technical assistance for authorization, and the promotion of fair competition.
The entire population has access to drinking water supply through a home network, and the rest through a public tap.
Sewerage service is under execution. Natural gas supply is not available.
It does not have urban transport service, but it does have interurban bus service that connects with the city of Rafaela, with four daily frequencies.
Regarding energy, it has electricity supply provided by the Provincial Energy Company, with no cases of alternative energy utilization.
