Cerrito

Cerrito is a city of approximately 8,500 inhabitants, located in the central-west of the province of Entre Ríos, on National Route N.º 12. Its strategic position, 50 km from Paraná, 77 km from Santa Fe, and 245 km from Rosario, along with its proximity to the Subfluvial Tunnel and the Ports of Curtiembre and Diamante, makes it a privileged connection point with the main logistical and productive corridors of the Central Region.

Its economy features a diversified productive matrix, comprising agricultural, agro-industrial, commercial, service, construction, and logistics activities, accompanied by a growing entrepreneurial ecosystem and the development of small and medium-sized enterprises. The availability of land for new productive projects and territorial planning oriented towards growth strengthen the conditions for the establishment of investments.

Cerrito offers a high quality of life, combining the tranquility and security typical of an intermediate-sized city with quality infrastructure and services. It has access to natural gas, fiber optic connectivity, educational establishments at all levels, a Technical Education School, a Higher Technical Institute, health services, a municipal gerontological residence, a municipal nursery, sports, cultural, and recreational spaces, in addition to a network of social organizations committed to the well-being of children and the elderly.

The municipality promotes a development strategy based on articulation between the public sector, the private sector, educational institutions, and intermediate organizations. The presence of entities such as the local headquarters of Agricultores Federados Argentinos (AFA), along with cooperation agreements with provincial bodies aimed at promoting innovation and entrepreneurial development, strengthen the local productive ecosystem and favor the incorporation of technology and the generation of added value.

Committed to sustainable development, Cerrito has been part of the Argentine Network of Municipalities against Climate Change (RAMCC) for several years and has a Local Climate Action Plan. It also develops circular economy policies through household waste separation and a recycling plant managed by a work cooperative. It also promotes energy transition through biogas plants and the Municipal Community Financing Model for Local Energy Transition, which facilitates access for residents and institutions to grid-connected photovoltaic systems and solar water heaters.

Natural heritage constitutes another of the city's main assets. The Montecito de Lovera Educational Natural Reserve, declared a Protected Natural Area under the category of Protected Landscape, preserves a representative sample of the native Espinal forest and has consolidated itself as a space for environmental education, research, nature tourism, and recreation.

The identity of Cerrito is also expressed through its cultural, sports, and community proposals. The city organizes regional events, such as the Fiesta del Chancho con Pelo, the Popular Book Fair, the National Biogas Fair, and the Del Campo a la Mesa fair, which promotes the commercialization of locally produced and agroecological foods. Throughout the year, it develops an intense sports agenda that includes disciplines such as beach volleyball, cycling, and newcom, consolidating an attractive environment for living, working, and investing.
