"Protected nature, sustainable potential, productive future."
2 hab. 140 km² Córdoba
Geographic Location: Nono is located in the heart of the Traslasierra Valley, in the west of the province of Córdoba. Its location is strategic because it is halfway between the towns of Salsacate, to the north, and Villa Dolores, to the south; and it is a few kilometers from the beginning of the Camino de las Altas Cumbres (which connects Traslasierra with the city of Córdoba, the Antonio Taravella International Airport, the Punilla Valley and the Paravachasca Valley) and Route 148, which connects with the province of San Luis. This connectivity strengthens Nono's positioning as a strategic location for the development of a regional distribution center, as well as a cargo hub and regional and provincial logistical articulation.
Natural Environment: The Río de los Sauces and the Río Chico cross the municipal ejido, join at "Las Junturas", an iconic point of the town, and flow into the La Viña Dam. In 2020, this area was declared a Municipal Natural Reserve to guarantee the conservation and sustainable use of the areas around the Ing. Medina Allende Reservoir, its tributary channels, and associated ecosystems. Environmental care is an essential element of Nono's identity, a peaceful and quiet town where everything is close by, and it is ideal for families seeking a life in harmony with nature.
Environmental Conservation: Nono has implemented a Land Use Plan to develop human activities sustainably. In addition, the Municipality has an integral waste management plan, which includes waste separation at the source and the operation of a transfer and valorization plant. In this framework, the possibilities for urban mining projects based on the recovery of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) are enhanced.
Microclimate: Nono has a microclimate of great purity, characterized by high negative ionization, natural ozone, orographic shelter, and more than 320 days of sunshine per year. These conditions, added to an altitude of over 900 m.a.s.l., create an ideal scenario for the production of photovoltaic and renewable energies.
Culture: Nono preserves and values local culture through a series of actions and initiatives that are maintained throughout the year, such as the Artisans' Fair, the National Sculptors' Meeting, the Painters' Meeting, the Serrana Tradition Festival, the Book Fair, the Houses with History Circuit, the Mural Poetry circuit, and the installation of sculptures in the streets of Nono, which form an open-air art gallery. These conditions are ideal for the development of an audiovisual hub, within the framework of one of the strategic productive profiles defined in Nono's Land Use Plan.
Sports: Nono has sports institutions with great tradition, such as Club Atlético Unión de Nono and Club Atlético Sportivo Nono, as well as a Municipal Sports Court and Sports Center. The town has become a symbol of trail running, thanks to nationally and internationally renowned events such as the Nono Trail Run and the Desafío de La Juntura.
Productive Matrix: Nono's economy is based on sustainable tourism as its primary strategy, seconded by the profile of a producer of alternative renewable energies (biogas, solar parks, among others) and a producer, supplier, and regional provider of agroecological and organic foods. In particular, the territory has favorable conditions for viticulture, beekeeping, and hemp production. The Municipality provides advice and training strategies, while the provincial government promotes these activities through the Camino del Vino and Camino de la Miel tourist circuits. The availability of land enhances the establishment of ventures of various sizes. Likewise, Nono promotes and favors the establishment of ventures framed in the knowledge industry.
Infrastructure: primary, secondary, tertiary, and university educational centers (with a campus of the Provincial University of Córdoba located 12 km north, in Mina Clavero, and another 30 km south, in Villa Dolores); primary health care centers in the town and more complex ones in Mina Clavero and Villa Dolores; road connectivity via provincial routes; Punto Digital; Correo Argentino branch; electrical grid (low, medium, high voltage); fiber optic connectivity and satellite internet solutions; Correo Argentino branch; potable water network; natural gas network (available in the central area, and under execution for the rest of the town); ATM. This network of infrastructure and services creates favorable conditions for the development of productive ventures and the establishment of talent.
